What We Do

Our training programs are designed to give you the best results in the shortest amount of time. It’s simple, nothing beats it.

Personal Training

Personal trainers aren’t for everyone, but a trainer provides certain benefits that you can’t find when working out on your own.

Are you:

  • Overweight and/or unhappy with your body?
  • Tired, sore, exhausted?
  • Struggling to keep up with the kids?
  • Unsure of how to use the equipment at the gym – or are you uncomfortable using the equipment?
  • Finding it difficult to motivate yourself to push harder each time you work out?
  • Frustrated that your current program is not giving you the results you want?
  • If you answered yes to any of the above questions you may need help with your exercise program.

One on one training sessions with me will be tailored to your goals and individual lifestyle. Because we will be training in my studio or in a local park, instead of a busy gym the focus will be totally on you, as it should be. I will prepare and structure each session according to your goals so you’re guaranteed to succeed.

The first session is all about me getting to know you. There are several components to cover before we begin training:

  • Goal setting. If you are not entirely sure of what your goals are I can help you set ones that follow the SMART principle – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely.
  • Medical History and Release Form. This ensures that it is safe to start training. In some cases, you may require a Medical Clearance from your doctor or advice from another Health Care professional before you begin training.
  • Postural and Exercise Analysis. We will spend time assessing your posture and range of movement. Expect to do some squats, pushups, core exercises, dips etc. to check your current abilities.

Your first training session won’t be high intensity as I will be taking you through your program, establishing suitable weights for you to train with and letting you determine whether your expectations are met with me as your trainer.

Once you decide to commit to a regular program I will also conduct fitness testing of your cardio, strength and flexibility capabilities as a measurable basis for us to build on.

Our Standard Personal Training sessions are 45 minutes in length including warmup and hands-on stretching at completion.

Group Training

Outdoor Training/ BootCamp/ BoxFit

No two classes are ever the same. You will train in a group environment with like minded women who have the same goals as you. Together you will motivate each other to reach those goals. Age, ability and fitness level are no limitation……your trainer will challenge you each session by pushing you outside your comfort zone so that you realize everything you are capable of.

60-minute sessions that mix strength and cardiovascular exercises are for women only!

Tabata Training

Basically, the Tabata Method of training is 20 seconds of hard training followed by 10 seconds of rest repeated 8 times. The name comes from the original author of the study around this interval training method called Izumi Tabata. His paper was published in 1996 and so has been around for 17 years but is seeing a lot of renewed interest. Sessions last for 30 minutes.

The American Heart Association recommends the following “…at least 150 minutes per week of moderate exercise or 75 minutes per week of vigorous exercise (or a combination of moderate and vigorous activity). 30 minutes a day, five times a week is an easy goal to remember, however you will also experience benefits even if you divide your time into two or three segments of 10 -15 minutes per day”.

This is interesting that the Tabata sessions fits directly into the timing suggested by the American Heart Association. Other benefits include:

  • The Tabata Method burns fat.
  • Increases your metabolism during training.
  • Increases your metabolism after training.
  • The session is quick and great for those of you short of time.
  • Improve your aerobic and anaerobic systems.
  • Improves mental toughness and will power.

Strength Sessions

Weights training only, held in my home studio. Your heart rate will still rise so expect a tough session all round!

Cardio Sessions

45 minute cardio sessions. Think interval training, skipping, running, stairs, hills, bike, rower.
